The fourth quarter of 2023 has been an eventful period for the top consumer finance applications in Europe. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a detailed look at how these apps have fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Beginning with Google Wallet, the app saw a steady download trend starting at 350K in the last week of September, peaking at nearly 500K by mid-December, before dipping to around 330K towards the year's end. The weekly active users showed an upward trajectory, spiking from 4.1M to a high of 5.2M users in early November, before closing the quarter at approximately 4.5M.
T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş.’s app, Ziraat Mobile, experienced fluctuations in downloads, ranging from 150K to over 400K, with notable dips and rises throughout the quarter. The weekly active users for Ziraat Mobile remained robust, starting at around 12.4M and reaching a high of 13.3M in late November, before slightly decreasing to 12.7M by the quarter's end.
Banco Santander's Santander app showed consistent downloads in the range of 75K to 105K. Its weekly active users saw a modest fall from 5.1M in late September to just under 4.9M by the end of December.
The BoursoBank app had download numbers that varied, with a peak of over 120K at the start of the quarter and ending at around 50K. The weekly active users saw a slight increase from 1.6M to 1.65M in late November, then a modest decline to 1.55M by the close of Q4.
Finally, Splitwise experienced a diverse download trend, starting at around 108K, decreasing to the lowest point of about 50K in mid-December, and then doubling to 105K by the year's end. Notably, Splitwise also generated revenue ranging from $9.6K to $18K weekly. Its active users showed a decreasing pattern from 418K to 332K throughout the quarter.
